Here at Benjamin Adlard, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We all work together to create and maintain a safe, happy environment for the children at our school and take action when there are child welfare concerns.

We have a set of clear policies and procedures for safeguarding children, which are outlined in our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy on the Policies page of this website.
Our school is also part of the Operation Encompass initiative which informs us of any domestic abuse incidents at home.
Reporting concerns out of school hours
If you suspect or believe a child is suffering, or is likely to suffer, significant harm (including any form of mistreatment or abuse) you should ALWAYS report your concerns.
In an emergency always dial 999.
If there is no immediate danger to the child, or if you need some advice or information, you can contact the Children Services Customer Service Centre (CSC) on 01522 782111. If it is outside normal office hours you can contact the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) on 01522 782333.

What can parents do to keep children safe and happy?
Parents are the most important people to keep their children safe. Parents should always:
- Feel confident to raise concerns about your child.
- Talk to the school if you need help or support.
- Read the school policies about keeping children safe.
- Let the school know if your child has a medical condition.
- Let the school know if you have any issues, including court orders, relating to the safety of your child.
- Let the school know if there is a change in your circumstances i.e. change of address, contact number, change of name, separation or divorce, loss of income etc.
- Tell the school who will be dropping off or collecting your child and provide the school with at least two other emergency contacts.
- Let the school know if your child is going to be absent from school and the reasons.
