House Teams
When children arrive at Benjamin Adlard, they are allocated a House Team. These are named after the four countries in the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Every half term, children in KS1 and KS2 represent their house team and compete in different sporting activities against their peers. They are asked to follow one of the six school games values when competing: passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, determination and teamwork. When not taking part in sporting activities, children are given cross-curricular opportunities to learn about the country their House represents.
Pupils have chances to earn house points by following our rules and values. In celebration assembly on a Friday these points are counted up and the house team with most points wins the prestigious house trophy!
Team Captains
Each team is represented by a Captain (a class teacher), and a Vice Captain (a teaching assistant). Our current Teams Captains are:
House Team | Captain | Vice-Captain |
---|---|---|
England | Mrs Jacklin | Mrs Lovely |
Scotland | Miss Gray | Miss Wisdom |
Wales | Mrs Wilson | Mrs Storey |
Northern Ireland | Mr Brown | Mrs Farrow |
Earning team points
Children can earn team points for their House by following our Golden Rules and school values, or for producing excellent work. At the end of each week, the House with the highest number of team points is presented with the House trophy during our Friday celebration assembly.
