Our teacher is Mr Brown and our teaching assistants are Mrs Wisdom and Mrs Birkett.

In English this term, we will be planning, writing and then editing lots of work using the fantastic picture book, ‘The Arrival’ by Shaun Tan.  During our guided reading sessions, we will focus on poetry this term using Michael Rosen’s book, ‘On The Move’. As well as using the two books mentioned, our class reading book is ‘Wonder’ which is a lovely story about a young boy and the challenges he faces at a new school.

Maths this term is heavily based around number and place value which are some of the core foundations for much of the curriculum. We will continue to practise our times tables every day helping us to improve our rapid call skill.

In Geography, we are learning about the Amazon Rainforest: we will learn about its location, climate and also focus on many of the problems it is facing due to the influence of humans.

DT this term will be very practical and a lot of fun as we design and build old fashioned games. This will require many different skills and hopefully the final product will be something we can be very proud of!

RE this term will focus on different religions and how they celebrate various aspects of the life cycle such as birth, marriage and death.

PE, as always, will be very active and a lot of fun (and probably a lot of sweat) as we take part in two sessions per week: Body Management and Invasion Games.
