Captain Kindness
Captain Kindness is a much-loved initiative in our school that celebrates the power of small, thoughtful actions. Each week, pupils nominate classmates who have shown genuine kindness—whether through helping others, offering encouragement, including someone who feels left out, or simply brightening somebody’s day. From these nominations, two pupils are chosen to become our Captains of Kindness for the week.
Our Captains proudly wear a special Captain Kindness hoodie, making them easily recognisable around school. Throughout the week, they keep an eye out for other acts of kindness and reward pupils with stickers to acknowledge and celebrate these positive behaviours. This encourages children to notice kindness in others and understand that caring actions—no matter how small—can have a big impact.
The Captain Kindness programme helps to embed our school values in everyday life. It promotes empathy, respect and positive relationships and ensures that kindness is not just something we talk about, but something we actively practise. The scheme has become a treasured part of our school culture and one we are extremely proud of.
