Proud to be part of

Nursery: Explorers

Welcome to Explorers class where fun and learning are one!

We have lots of adults to help us on our journey. There is Mrs Noble who is our class teacher, and Mrs Parish and Miss Spiegl who are our lovely teaching assistants.

At the start of our learning journey, we take lots of time to settle into our new environment, exploring, playing and getting to know each other. During this time, we learn our daily routines and how to be a kind member of our class and school community.

We follow the Development matters framework, so most of our learning happens through play. Specific activities and equipment are set up daily and we can choose which of these things we would like to play with. The adults play with us too and model how to solve problems, explore things safely and how to develop our play ideas. All of the activities, although look fun, have a purpose and help us progress and learn.

Throughout the year, we spend time exploring and using numbers and shapes as part of our maths curriculum and share books and begin to write some letters for our literacy. As well as this, we provide opportunities for developing our language and vocabulary, an awareness of the world around us and how to express ourselves in different ways.

It is great to be an explorer!
